Tupik. the documentary film

The Film Project

Alaskan Native artist Holly Mititquq Nordlum and Greenlandic Tattooist Maya Sialuk Jacobson joined with The Anchorage Museum's Polar Lab to revitalize traditional Inuit tattooing techniques (Tupik Mi). After the huge success and international interest in their Anchorage presentations, the pair decided a documentary film would be a valuable way to spread the word about traditional tattooing. They were fortunate enough to find another Inuit woman, Tanya Telemaque, to make the film.

Since then, Nordlum, the producer, recieved a Time Warner Native Producing Fellowship through the Sundance's American Indian Program which has boosted additional interest in the film.
